bullshit-bullsharks: Guanaco (Lama guanicoe)

This may resemble a lama, but it’s actually a relative called the guanaco . They inhabit grasslands & shrublands from southern Peru to Chile & Argentina to Tierra del Fuego. Western Paraguay also has quite a nice population. Guanacos can be found in 3 types of social groups: family groups, male troops, and solitary males. Most males are not in family groups, and territory is marked by defecation. They are a bit territorial because they have to guard their supply of grazing food. Humans happen to like these animals because of not only their fur, but their meat as well.
